Frank Andrew Hubble Jr. was born on April 23, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois to Reubena A. Rhodes and Frank Andrew Hubble Sr. He attended Spalding Institute and lettered in track and field and the high school field and concert bands.
MILITARY SERVICE- US ARMY
After graduating from high school in 1962, Sergeant Hubble enlisted in the U.S. Army and received basic military training and technical training as a supply specialist at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Completing training in 1963 Sergeant Hubble was assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia as a supply specialist where he received further training as a supply specialist and as an armor and small arms repairman. While assigned to the Army Security Agency, Eighteenth Airborne Corp, 7th Special Forces, Sergeant Hubble attended and completed Advance infantry training in 1964. Sergeant Hubble served honorably in Germany and Korea and received an honorable discharge in 1966.
CIVILIAN LIFE AFTER US ARMY SERVICE
Upon entering civilian life Sergeant Hubble held several jobs including establishing a distributing company and founding a Karate School in his home town of Peoria, Illinois.
MILITARY SERVICE-US AIR FORCE
In 1971 Sergeant Hubble entered the Air Force under the prior service program. In 1971 he attended technical training at Lowry AFB, Colorado. Upon completion of technical training school, Sergeant Hubble was assigned to Vandenberg AFB, California; served at Shemya AFB, Alaska, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, Royal Air Force, Lakenheath, England, and Castle AFB, California. He obtained a degree in Logistics Management from the Community College of the Air Force. He served in the local Castle AFB community chapel in its Lay Ministry program. He was selected as the Deputy Commander for Resource Management Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter for the months of January through March 1987 and subsequently the 93rd Bombardment Wing Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Quarter. He was SrMSgt before retiring active duty service. His grandson Dominik is following in his grandfather's footsteps and started basic training in the Air Force on April 4th, 2022.
CIVILIAN LIFE AFTER US AIR FORCE
Frank went to Law School for a year for paralegal and later stopped and for five years attended and graduated with the Merced College Class of 2000. As a result he became a licensed Radiologic Xray Technologist in the state of California.
RELIGIOUS LIFE
Frank A. Hubble Jr was a dedicated God fearing man who taught religious studies to the youth for many years and gave generously to charities. Before he transitioned, he was able to see his first great grandson Silas be baptized.
While in the Air Force for 22 years, Frank attended a prayer group in Barksdale Air Force Base Louisiana that went from 13 adult to over 300 adults. Frank also became a member of the Third Order of the Carmelite Discalced Religious Order. He is currently a member of the Modesto Carmelite Discalced Community.
He was also stationed at Little Rock Air Force Base Arkansas where he attended Marylake Discalced Carmelite monastery to learn more about the Carmelite Order. Carmelites emphasize union with God through prayer, contemplations, Divine Reading, and Silence.
While at Castle AFB Atwater after completing a college degree Frank along with the Base Commander helped established the Right of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) and brought Air Force personnel families into the Catholic Church.
Frank taught as a catechist for four years at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Merced CA and is currently registered as a catechist for the Diocese of Fresno on his fifth year in 2019 as a catechist at St Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Livingston CA teaching 30 high school boys.
Frank is also a 3rd and 4th degree Knight of Columbus. He also helps lead the St Anthony’s English Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group (the group is over 30 years old). He offers Carmelite Studies within the group of St. John of the Cross and St. Teresa of Avila and Lectio Divina of reading and understanding scripture.
FAMIY LIFE
As a 26 Year Army and Air Force Veteran he raised four daughters with first wife Willie V Richmond Hubble. Has four Grandsons and three Granddaughters with first wife Willie V. All Grandchildren have completed their college degree or currently attending college After Frank became a widower, he married Imelda and helped her raise her five children - four girls and one boy. They have nine children between them and 11 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson.
His Grandmother who helped raised him, father, mother, one brother and first wife preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his four daughters Felicia, Francheska, Kisha and Indira, daughters of first wife with their 7 granchildren : Xavier, Vecartier, Dominik, Terez, Monise, Siena , and Chardonnay who gave him his first Great Grandson Silas before passing. His second wife Imelda Hubble and her children Teresa, Imee, Gracie, Nicolette and Michael mourn their step-fathers passing as well as a host of cousins on the Rhodes and Hubble lineage and his church family and Carmelite prayer group and many friends around the world.
